Getting a true 240 FPS from your eBay card

Earlier in this post, someone said they used blueiris to view cameras attached to their kodicom card, I was wondering how you got it to work? Any details would be greatly appreciated.
Wow...that was a long time ago, so I don't remember exactly, but I believe that I had to download some generic drivers from here: http://btwincap.sourceforge.net. Then you can use blueiris or any video capture software. However, with just a few cameras, you will be near 100% CPU usage. I really liked the blueiris software, but the kodicom diginet software blows it out of the water. You should be able to view the Kodicom site through the web interface if your firewall doesn't let you use the kodicom center software. But if you can't see the kodicom web page, then you won't be able to see the blueiris web page either.

Hi guys

just bought a Hightech ATI Radeon 9250 128MB 64-bit DDR, DVI-I, VGA, TV Out,
PCI Interface and........the program still wont load :D :( :(

HELP~

or is there any other programs which can be replaced with DigiNet Site?

:( :( :(

Greetings Everyone~

Im also having problems with the DigiNet program. Im currentlly running an MSI motherboard with intel chipset + video, 512 ram, faster new celeron, and have tried both an ATI Radeon 9000 series 128 mb pci card like bsk81 above, and also a ATI x1300 pci-x 256mb card without luck.

All software and drivers load fine, and diginet goes throught the process of assigning a HD partition fine. The problem comes after restart when the program tries to load. It goes through the HD initializing but when it tries to load the graphics capture startup it freezes. It'll sit there for a while and you have to ctrl+alt+delete to stop it. After the ctrl, alt, delete it will briefly load the program with an error stating it could not load capture drivers then crashes out.

Please help with any solutions or idea's you may have. Thank you for your time.

I just tried the logmein.com software, and it crashed the diginet program, I get an overlay error. can anyone confirm the logmein software works?

Yeah, my company is very strict, I have tried every kodicom demo posted, I can see them from home, but not from work. I am looking for something like this:

http://www.demovi.com/videoinsight/Pages/AllCameras.aspx

I can view that from work.

BTW can anyone throw kodicom 4.13 my way? I am currently using Diginet Site 4.120
If you search through this post, you'll find a link for 4.13. I personally have found 4.11 more stable and 4.11 also allows you to use Alt-Tab and the Windows key to access other programs.

Do you have DirectX version 8.x or newer loaded? I've been able to get Diginet to work with as low as a Radeon 7000 with 64MB, but find it runs much better with my Radeon 9600 with 128MB--well enough that I can watch DVD's with Diginet Site running in the background.

That link appears to be dead :D .... any other places? I am loading direct-x version 9.0c as we speak, remember diginet runs just fine until the logmein overlay gets loaded, then it crashes.

here it is running withough the logmein software running:

Well, i've done windws update before installing Digisite so guess DirectX has also been installed as well?

I am using Active Webcam7 now but... :o CPU usage is always up to 100% :(
also, i've noticed that it takes sooo long to bootup windowsXP after installing the driver which came with Active Webcam7 ;)

Any recommendation?

thanx all

I just read this entire thread for the first time, and I'm curious what's the final verdict for all?

I see Jeff started out bashing Active Webcam pretty hard, but I don't see too many positive experiences with the alternatives in the months since the original post! I settled on Active webcam long ago after looking forever for a flexible DVR software package, so I'm a bit biased.

While I definitely have issues with high utilization, I haven't seen any compelling posts in this thread to move. I think I did see a couple people comparing a $2000 system with the activewebcam software, which I find quite humourous.

I'd move in a second if I thought I would get the same feature set and lower CPU utilization, but considering I record every single one of my 9 cameras (includes 2 DCS-5300 IP cams) to the hard drive continuously, the utilization of 85% on my Dell server isn't bad at all in my opinion.

i currently import a kodicom 8ch/240fps clone card by the 1000's and sell on my site for $125 each, i do not want to use diginet software because of copyright and patent laws, i build dvr rackmount servers but i want to know if anyone out there knows or can design a linux based software or even windows based software that will work with my card.

please visit my site www.dmcctv.com

i wholesale the card for $125

kodicomusa.com, is going to down hard on sellers, they can violate you for you using there software, but they cant do anything if you sell just the card, just cant use there software or name brand.

I tried Blue Iris and for a brief moment got 1 camera to display, messed around with the setting to get all 4 cameras up and going, and never got it to work after that. I tried to load video insight, and no go. I also tried Active Webcam, and still nothing.

I found out logmein uses port 443, which is also blocked through work.

I am going to buy a new MB, since my surveillance system is the following:

Operating System: Windows 2000 Professional (5.0, Build 2195) Service Pack 4
System Manufacturer: Gateway
System Model: G6-450
Processor: Intel Pentium II processor, ~450MHz
Memory: 448MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Video Card name: 3dfx Interactive, Inc. Voodoo3
Manufacturer: 3dfx Interactive, Inc.
Chip type: 3Dfx Voodoo 3
DAC type: 3Dfx Internal DAC
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_121A&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_0060121A&REV_01
Display Memory: 16.0 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (24 bit) (70Hz)
Monitor: Samsung 17" Flat Panel Display
Driver Name: voodoo3.dll
Driver Version: 5.00.2180.0058 (English)
Driver Date/Size: 12/7/1999 16:43:42, 333168 bytes

checking other posts from the cctv forums, it appears that for the Kodicom card, I will need:

Intel CPU, P4
Intel Motherboard or Intel Chipset Motherboards (Asus)
ATI Radeon Video cards, preferably 128

I was hoping to see if 4.13 would resolve the video overlay problems. Once I get the new system set up, I will try the above programs again, maybe they dont currently work due to my systems limited capabilities. I would still be interested in 4.13 if someone wants to throw it my way.

I run mine on an AMD 2100+. But it would not run on my AMD with an NForce2 chipset. So it is not just the processor as the chipset has a big impact.

Mine however gets a little quirky in 640x480, so an Intel is probably a good idea still, but not necessary.

I just put in a newer vidoe card:

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0181&SUBSYS_B0893842&REV_A2
Display Memory: 64.0 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (72Hz)
Monitor: Samsung 17" Flat Panel Display
Monitor Max Res:
Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll
Driver Version: 6.14.0010.5672 (English)

I finally got the blue iris to work, but in demo mode, only 1 camera at a time would show. BTW, what a resource hog it is. from work I was able to view, but in jpeg push/pull mode. I dont know if I have the proper codec for the mpeg push, as it would not play.
