HAI dual PIMs and Gen III

I've recently had noise issues with my HAI system (OmniPro II, ~100 HAI switches, phase coupler). I find it a pain to disconnect my PIM, connect laptop via USB/Serial adaptor, use Upstart, reset PIM back to message mode, reconnect PIM to Omni, etc. every time I want to use Upstart.

Can I have two PIMs connected, one dedicated to the basement Omni for control and the other dedicated to my office PC for Upstart? I can't see why not, but wanted to check before I bought it.

Also, I see the new HAI PIMs are Gen III, would a Gen III PIM alone, given most of my switches are still Gen II, improve performance?

You definitely can do that, and in fact that is the preferred way to do it. There are two modes the PIM run in and switching back and forth between two devices is not the best way to do it.

Only way to go! It gets old really fast having to disconnect PIM's and move them around. Somewhere I have yet another USB one too...
