HAI Ip cameras

Going to be installing HAI Omni IIe and 5.7e touchscreens. I am wondering what IP cameras to go with. I have seen Vivotek and HAI have great integration but I am wondering about HAI with other brands. How is it with ACTi? those are good cameras and slightly cheaper than Vivotek. How about Geovision or Channel Vision?

Also whats a good NVR to use? I'd use Vivotek's if I go with them, and Geovision if i went with them, but what to use with ACTi?

Thanks,
Ryan

Here I have 5.7 legacy and 5.7e IP Omnitouch screens.  I also have a legacy HAI video server for the 5.7 legacy serial screens.

I utilize Zoneminder for my CCTV NVR and that today feeds analog and IP cam stuff to the Omnitouch 5.7e's and the Omnitouch legacy video server.  The configuration / web link in PCA is identical for each camera except for the specific camera.

On the camera side its really what you like the best, how its configured to your NVR and how you can access you NVR.  I have no direct IP connections from the camera to the Omnitouch 5.7e's.  I could utilize them but I have a variety of mfg's IP cams today and would be a unique per IP camera set up unless I used all of the same cameras.

IP HD camera prices are going down lately such that you are getting better quality at less money.

What is nice is that the Omnitouch 5.7e's work with just about any camera and even easier though is using common configured links to the NVR.

The only issue I have is that currently the PCA / Omnitouch 5.7e (not via the software touchscreen programming) defaults are all 4:3 views where as my HD cams are all 16:9 views (or wide screen versus regular 4:3 screens).

Very easy to set up via PCA.  Omnitouch 5.7e's pick up the configurations with no issues.

I use mostly Vivotek cameras.
They push recording to a NAS or other disk.
That capability is resident within the camera, so no dedicated NVR is necessary to pull to streams.

I record to a large (6TB RAID) Thecus NAS N4100Pro.

There is a Thecus plug in to pull streams from other cameras, like the HAIs.
I like the video quality and price point of the HAIs (I found the OEM manufacturer of these once, but have since lost that info).
The HAIs have a slot for an onboard storage card but I don't believe it's enabled in the firmware.
They are good scene cameras(fixed lens) but the resolution won't allow detail related functions like reading a license plate.

Configuring the 5.7es is straightforward.
The largest hiccup is usually the password and username entry of which the order is swapped in Automation Studio (password first).
The 5.7es should work with any jpg or mjpg output.

PoE IP cameras are extrememly easy to install and manage.
