HAI Omni 2 Wi Fi hookup

Great, so sounds like I need to do the following:

1 Purchase the Powerline adaptor
2 Connect Omni IIe to the Powerline adapter in basement
3 Connect router to Powerline adaptor in main floor
4 Configure with the router’s admin interface

Does that look right? Then after that’s set up, I can begin to set up the Myro: Home app to connect with the IIe?

Steps 1,2,3 yes.
4 set ip address on Omni iie to get it on local subnet.
5 test to see if it works. ping from PC or use:
www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/
if it successfully gets on your home network, then you can try Myro
Again, this will only work within your home.
If you want to use it remotely, there are more steps which include
setting a port forward on the router and determining your external ip address

Awesome thanks so much for your help!

It’s okay if it only works within my home.

I’ll give it a shot and let you know how it goes.

Cheers

Ok got the Router and IIe both connected to the Powerline adaptor, everything looks good on the adaptors.

Not really sure how to proceed now. I think I’m supposed to change the IP address for the IIe but not sure how to do that.

Stick on #4 - not sure what to set the Omni IP to.

Should it be the same as my subnet mask? Or the same as my Router IP?

You set it to an unused IP on your subnet.
If your router is 192.168.1.1, chances are you have a /24 subnet so your range is 192.168.1.1-254.
Use one of those IP's but make sure it's not in your DHCP range.
Go into the router, check the DHCP range and pick an IP outside of that.

Thanks for your help Frunple and dwalt.

The Omni IIe is now set up on my router.

Now time for the Myro:Home problems lol. Not sure if you guys are familiar with that app but when I open the App it says “Please wait a moment while we sync the controller data.” It rapidly scrolls through some data, then the App abruptly closes after that. I’ve contacted the app maker about that so hopefully I can get that worked out.
