I don't know if anyone can help me, but it's Easter Sunday & I really need help! Our smoke detector / fire alarms keep going off for no reason. They go off for anywhere from 3-10 seconds... then it shuts itself off for about 10 minutes then they go off again. We have unplugged the system from the wall & disconnect the battery... it's STILL going off! If you have any ideas or know what to do - please help! Thank you! The system is a HAI Omni Pro II model 32A00-1.

Does your HAI system have a 12 volt backup battery? Look inside the cabinet. If you have one you will notice it.
Yes it does - we disconnected it, but that didn't work either.
Each smoke detector is going off. The "Fire Alarm" code was flashing on the keypad, but disarming it wasn't turning the sirens off. I can't see what kind they are.

It's really hard to say without knowing the system, but if you turned off/unplugged the panel and disconnected the battery then I can only assume that the smoke detectors are 'standard' 120V powered models with perhaps a relay that notifies your HAI. I'm further assuming that when you disconnect/unplug everything then the keypad goes dark as well. If that is the case, could it be a defective or perhaps dirty unit? Or a low battery (assuming each detector will have a battery in it). If they keypad is still 'live' then it sounds like you didn't really disconnect the 12V battery.

Yes, the keypad was dark. We plugged the system back in about 15 minutes ago... so far so good. Unfortunately we just moved in a few months ago, & haven't had time to learn the system. So I can't tell you anything about what the components are. For now the system is being quiet... so I'll keep my fingers crossed until tomorrow when we can hopefully get someone to answer a phone and some questions! I appreciate your time!

It sounds like you have some dirty smoke detector chambers. Dust in the detectors can cause false alarms. According to how it is wired, when one detector goes off, they all go off.
If you have another alarm, before resetting the alarm, go around to each detector and see if its status light is turned on. The one with the status light on caused the alarm. This may vary according to the detector brand however.

If you've unplugged the HAI panel and disconnected the battery and still get some smokes going off perhaps it's a builder smoke that was installed earlier and not part of the system at all. It's fairly common to have both systems in a house, especially if the HAI was installed after the initial build. It sounds to me like it's one of the original smokes going off.
