Help with Elk-M1G, zone trouble

I have an Elk M1-Gold with Insteon 2413 controller and XSP. For at least a couple of years everything worked fine until my former controller (I think a 2412) went out. I purchased the new 2413 a couple of years ago and have never gotten some of the automation (involving my garage doors) to work since. Tonight I realized something very strange was going on and can't for the life of me figure it out. I thought the problem was my 2413 for two years but when testing various scenarios I found that virtually no matter what I did involving the garage doors nothing would take place. If garage doors go up lights should come on....they don't...no where. The zone is violated...I checked. I tried various other zones to make sure it wasn't the 2413 and they seemed to work...If master bedroom zone becomes not secure then turn on light for 30 seconds....etc worked fine. The only thing that I could make happen was if garage door becomes not secure - arm away. No lights would work. No voice announcements would be spoken. Nothing but arming the system. I almost wish that hadn't of worked because I could narrow something down, but it did. The two garage doors are the only zones that are set as non-alarm but I don't think that would do anything different. So to make sure you understand....Checking status shows that a zone is violated when the garage doors go up and not violated when they go down. Almost no automation works with them however EXCEPT arming the system. Any ideas??? Garage door1 and Garage door 2 both set with bypassable, non-alarm, enable chime, normally closed.

The issue I believe lies with violated and not violated, as they are not viewed as system zones.

How about changing them to turn on/off phantom outputs and then use those rules to fire off the lighting?
