Interesting topic, I just read through all 7 pages of posts, looks like alot of resistance... But I for one would be willing to give their windows Disto a chance. Zoneminder looks nice but I dont run Linux and already have to meny computers running to add another

yea, i think the problem was that he initially tried to sound like a user and wound up he was trying to pre-push the product. i think he mainly came off the wrong way.
