Does HS2/HSPRO "phone home" to authenticate? What happens if that process fails?
The v1.x promo expires on 9/21. Yes, the software does need to be activated. Activation can be done online or you can contact us by phone for offline activation.

You simply put in a help desk ticket to get your license reset.

1 word of warning, you may want to TRY the 30 day trial before passing the cash over... I am in the process of trying to return back to my old HS as hspro has broken a lot of the stuff I use.

I thought Pro would have been the same but "better" but it has "features" that have caused more grief for me, the system before pro was pretty good, uptimes of 45 days and 95% working, now its like 50% working and rebooting everyday.

Wayne - The activation occurs once. After that, authentication only occurs when you access the updater. If authentication fails, the software is put into a 30 day trial mode... which should allow plenty of time to reset the license.

Terry - The problems you're having are likely due to a version change (2.2.0.66 vs 2.3.x) rather than a product change (HS2 vs HSPRO). Rich responded directly to your thread on our message board here: http://board.homeseer.com/showpost.php?p=8...amp;postcount=6
