its one zone with one reversing module. It is a DSC reversing module and i followed the instructions that came with it to wire it. It only has one input for power which i connect to the Saux. It has connections on it for monitoring the panel and to trigger it. I wired these two connections to output 3 on the elk. Lastly the two of the wires from the smokes wired directly to zone 1 on the elk which will be a fire zone. I dont see where i could wire a second power input as you stated. It only shows the power coming off the SAUX, into the reversing module, then out to the smokes from there. Sound right??
One other question, am I suppose to put a resisitor across all the zones that are not wired/in use?
Thanks
Philip
When using smoke detectors with sounders you need a reversing module(s) to have them all sound at the same time and in synch. The power for the sounders can be obtained from either the aux power or the bell circuit depending on the panel and how you choose to wire it. The sounders would not be powered off of the Saux power when using the reversing module. The detectors would be powered off of the Saux and total would be less than 100 ma since they draw microamps in standby for most detectors.
Not sure exactly the numbers in your case since I dont know which model you are using.
Can you provide a few more details in how you are setting this up? How many zones? How many reversing modules? How are you intending to wire the reversing modules etc.
