M1G & Uplink 2500

Could someone please help me with my M1G and Uplink 2500.

I'd posted previously but didn't get much help, so I'm here again pleading this time :)

I've got an M1G and my Uplink 2500 connected to a XSP connected to the M1G.

How do I know for sure the Uplink is connected and communicating properly? Should it show up in RP on the enroll devices or something?

I feel really dumb about this and could really use any help possible!

Thank you in advance!

The panel will not show anything in RP or the log. The only item that would appear would be an XSP and firmware in the enroll devices tab in RP.

The best way is to (if connected) disconnect the telco line and test to the CS for operation.

DEL Thank you for the response!!!!!

I don't have a CO line to the house, so how could I check it otherwsie?

Also, NextAlarm tells me that the 2500 with the uplink does not support contactid reporting, just alarms, so according to them there would be no way I could tell what sensor tripped the alarm, etc.

Could you shed any more light on my scenario?

Thank you again!

Yes, ContactID is supported by NextAlarm and the 2500 with an XSP. Without the XSP it is pretty limited, like NextAlarm said.

More info about writing rules to monitor the 2500 is in the XSP document M1XSP_Lighting&Thermostat_Interface_Serial_Port_Exp.pdf and at www.seanadams.com/ha/elk_uplink/ (I had to get a cached copy)

CID format will work with the XSP and 2500. The XSP dumps the data via the serial, that's it. The best guide of how to do it is in the XSP manual. Wiring a 2500 straight to the M1 without an XSP would negate the CID reporting and provide general/summary data.

Without a CO line, testing is very easy, just program the M1, load the firmware in the XSP, then make sure the 2500 is set up to receive serial data in the uplink programming. Done.
