MIXEP Firmware V2 and eKeypad

I am about to upgrade the firmware on my XEP but wanted to ensure I don't lose remote access via eKeypad (without using a cloud service) before doing so.

Is anyone using eKeypad with the XEP v2 firmware installed?

Yes.

I wish I didn't update mine. V2 uses the m1cloud and email alerts take up to 45secomds.

The old firmware gave instant email alerts.

As a matter of fact, I'm actually looking for a used one on eBay and finding a v1 m1xep firmware

+also, mykeypad work with v2 xep firmware.. But if you upgrade to lollipop, mykeypad will no longer work

Why are you all updating?
The new version supports SSL secure email. The older version did not which limited the number of servers that you could use because not many ISP's offer non secure servers any more.

Mike.

Want to upgrade because I haven't been able to setup email notifications from my preferred account without SSL.

Is it taking the system longer to send emails? Or, for them to be processed by the provider?

I have my own hosted email server so I had no issue with access to a non-SSL account, however I simply did not want messages being sent from my alarm system in plain text so I upgraded so I could utilize SSL email.

I think it's taking long to be processed, it needs to hit the m1 cloud server first.

Before it was a straight smtp system.

Now, there is another hop to pass

FWIW...I upgraded and tested the email notification feature.  It takes between 10 & 15  seconds to receive a mms text/email with the 2.x.x firmware and using a google apps email account I set up for the house.  Checked several times with different events.

I did have to force the XEP into DHCP mode with the jumper to get it to reconnect with RP.

Ohhh and eKeypad is still working!!!
