My remotes

I have the Gyration MCE mouse/keyboard. The mouse allows you to control your entire system, while you can trigger macros based on the movements you make (i.e. load program when waving the remote up and down). That mouse remote also has MCE buttons , but not as many as the regular MCE remote.

I see (I think). So you are saying this remote will let me run MCE AND Main Lobby using this same remote? The only thing I now have to do is figure out how to include a menu item in Media Center to "shell" out to Main Lobby.

I think there is something very basic here that I can't seem to grasp. If this device can emulate a regular mouse when the MCE machine is in its regular "Windows XP" mode, why can't I control Main Lobby just as I would on any machine with mouse clicks? I don't really need to type anything, just use the mouse. That is why I want a device that can control the "mouse" when Main Lobby is started. In other words, this device should be able to work on a regular XP machine (i.e. not an MCE machine).

Am I wrong in assuming that once the "MCE" part of Windows Media Center is shut down that it acts just like a regular "XP" operating system? :)

MCE is just an application running on XP Pro, the problem is that Main Lobby was designed for use with a touch screen, which your mouse isn't. So you could use a regular wireless mouse to control the main lobby interface I guess.

As the MCE Gyration remote can act as a regular wireless mouse (albeit you move your wrist to change where you are pointing) you can use it with Mainlobby no problem.

Unless they fixed the drivers, you must also have a MCE Microsoft remote for the MCE setup to work. I had to return the Gyration and replaced it with the Microblow one as MCE wouldn't setup without seeing it's near and dear remote.

You can minimize the MCE app and have ML running and then control ML with Gyration. And visa versa. Not sure if you can program a ML button to minimize ML and Maximize MCE app.

hmm, wonder if the one JohnWPB mentioned will work with MCE AND Main Lobby as well? I don't like the idea of moving my wrist around to get this to work (low WAF also I'm thinking ;) ).

How come I'm seem to be the only one in the whole world wanting Main Lobby to work with my MCE system on my TV? You would think all of you gurus would have this all figured out by now!! :)
