Don't these have a built in web browser? Couldn't you simply visit your HomeSeer web page using the built in browser or are they not fast enough?
 
yes, yes, i can browse to the homeseer page, although the text is a bit small... however, what i was interested in was using it as a remote control through a global cache, so i could have a remote-like interface where buttons ran events through the global cache plug-in.

I believe Jay was accessing xlobby via the builtin web server in xlobby, although I know he also experimented with VNC. His complaint with the xlobby web interface was that after pressing a button on the web page, he'd have to refresh the browser to see the updated status. But that is a limitation of the xlobby server, maybe it's something that could be fixed by the developer. Another option is to write up a custom web page that is served by the homeseer web server. You mention Maestro, so I'm assuming you're running homeseer.
Personally I'm planning on using xlobby and a rdp session. But it sounds like that won't work for you.

I'm pretty sure that's how the CQC crowd is using their 770's. I don't have one so I haven't bothered monitoring any of the threads, but there's been a few threads with that discussion on the forums.

Rupp, I'm very sorry. I believe your questions were answered in this thread. I've been away a lot. Were they?
 
I have been receiving a download all day on my 770. Anyone else? Can't stop it except to turn off WIFI. Re-enable WIFI and it resumes. DL is slow as though it was intended for a background task. About 8 hours now and only around 10MB.
Didn't know where else to plant this - unless Wiring Closet?
Not seeing anything in the 770 sites and I did not ask for any DL.

one of my tablets has died from the white screen of death ( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%...amp;btnG=Search ). luckily it died in warranty, but it has been sitting in their repair facility for nearly a month "waiting for parts". they won't acknowledge the white screen of death is a problem nor do they comment on other websites that mention the problem that started as early as May 2006, months after they released the 770.

"...our records do not reflect that there are any known issues with the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet. As mentioned in our previous communication, Nokia does not comment on information provided on third-party web sites."

hope my 2nd one doesn't crap out as it'll soon be out of warranty...

for people with web page size problems, the 770 has zoom in/out buttons on the top and the top left button is to make the web browser full screen. it helps for me. the buttons are to the left of the power button.

for keyboard you can hook up a bluetooth stowaway keyboard.

definitely get the memory card and follow the instructions to use it properly.
