NUVO Grand Concerto MCU - where to find.

Hi. I am trying to find a Canadian dealer in order to buy an MCU for a Nuvo Grand Concerto. I have the Concerto unit ( which was misrepresented to me when i bought it), with the new touchscreen oled keypads, they aren't compatible. If I can find a Grand Concerto MCU, then upgrade it, everything should be fine I hope. Anyone know of a dealer who can sell me one? I am in Winnipeg Manitoba. Thanks!

I just started calling local A/V installers until I found one that sold Nuvo. From there, I just asked to get a replacement MCU board. He tried to get me to have them come in to instll the new MCU and "Program the system" but I told him I just needed the part. No problem.

There is only one local one here in wpg, i called them, and awaiting a response. Hopefully they can and will do this for me. Otherwise will have to see. Thanks

Hey Bigmac,

Another Winnipegger here. I went through Brian Reimer Audio to get my Grand Concerto repaired after a dead-short in one of the cat5 runs shorted out the power supply. He was pretty helpful.

you shouldn't have to "program the system" after you install the card, everything should power up as a grand concerto correct? I have a dual tuner, and a wired ipod dock (all nuvo) connected to the ez port. shouldn't be much programming, just setting up the zones through the keypads?

That is exactly correct. (although, FYI, it would be much easier using the Nuvo Configurator Software. Also, the Software will update the Firmware of your Grand Concerto AND the firmware in all your attached Accessories (T2 Tuner, Ipod Dock, Wireless remotes, etc.)

The point I was trying to make was that some Dealers may try to wiggle their way into having a technician coming out to your house and charging you to install it. If you have ever installed a card (video, NIC, etc.) in a computer then the MCU will be a breeze. All you need is the part.

The local dealer here just ordered me the part. I have no problems installing the card, and have the configurator software too, just need the serial cable to connect from the pc to the concerto. Thanks for your help. (might bother you again if I come across any issues  )

Hi.

Sorry to revive such a old topic... but I need to buy a new Concerto MCU (I8-DM). Mine just died  :(
Can someone point me to a dealer?

Thanks!

If a dealer here doesn't respond, call Nuvo tech support. They may be able to give you some direction. They've always been helpful when I call.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I know Nuvo are helpful but unfortunately I am in Europe (Portugal) and Nuvo pointed me to a representative that doesn't even respond to emails.

So I guess my best bet is buy it overseas  :(
