You can buy the crimps from an electrical supplier (Newark, Mouser, Digikey, etc), cut the cable, crimp new ends on it and re-insert them into the housing. The actual work on the bench would be under 15 minutes.
Finding and ordering exactly the right crimp terminals will take you longer, which is why I figured them out once long-ago and bought 1000 of them. (but for multiple different types of connectors, so I still need to figure out which is which, but now I'm just picking from among a handful of choices, one of which I know is right, not a whole catalog.)
