Security Access (Door Lock) issues.
1. 4 digit limit on user access code to lock or unlock the Z-Wave lock. Yale YRD-220-ZW allows 4-8 digits.
If I set a 4 digit code in the lock, it works with SPACE. Should be able to have more digits for better security..
2. To lock or unlock a lock one needs to click on SECURITY from the main page, then on the lock's Icon, then a smaller window comes up with two options,
Timer and:
* If the lock is LOCKED you can only press UNLOCK, if the lock is UNLOCKED then you can only press LOCK. Press one of these and you get a not needed, extra click window that gives you two options to click on, Enter Password or Cancel. This window should be eliminated as you can click Cancel from the password keypad window next. Just go directly to the keypad.
3. Once the lock is Locked or Unlocked it takes forever (2-10 mins) for the icon color and status to update. This maybe an issue with how the OmniPro II handles the Z-Wave status, not sure. The problem here is that if the lock has just been LOCKED but is still reporting UNLOCKED there is no option to Unlock it...and of course the reverse. (see 2*) (I hope this is not confusing....)
Again, not sure SPACE can do anything about this put wanted to list the issue.
Thanks
While I agree on the status of Lock/Unlock being only a binary toggle being somewhat problematic when one needs to "double-press", the real problem here is not Space but rather the speed at which the locks transmit their status. I am using z-wave locks as well with HAI OmniPro systems and even natively from the OmniPro touchscreens or controller, there is a HUGE delay between when the Lock/Unlock command is sent and when it is acknowledged. It's even worse when manually changing the lock position at the door - sometimes these statuses are not reported until 30 minutes later!
Anyway... the point being, the delay and funky handing is not a Space issue: it's a problem with the locks themselves being lazy about sending status (maybe as a battery-saving "feature"?)
