There are two ways to configure Gnome Extensions on Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop.

Hardware wise have upgrade Lenova laptop keyboard to an illuminated Lenova keyboard and replaced the touch pad with older style Lenova touchpad (which is still too sensivitive). Settled right now on track ball use and looking at switching over to using a 3D navigator (rather than a mouse).

Gnome Extensions configuration via:

1 - desktop interface
2 - browser interface

Here utilize the browser interface which is nice and easy to me.

I like to see a basic clock with date on the bottom of my desktop.  I have combined two to one info bar with is easy peasy to do using the dash to panel extension. I have also added the weather extension which is a nice info pop up.

Today just writing about the clock configuration using the clock overide extension.

%R %I:%M %p %a %b %d %Y

which is:

time in 24 hour format, time in 12 hour format, day of the week and date.
