Need some help got a umi module for my gate control but HAI system won't see the module in Config.
used upstart to program module but when i try to config to HAI it come up as unknown module any ideas would be helpful as i am new to a lot of the programming and have just been getting by by trial and error

I would highly recommend that you use an HAI UPB interface to the panel, and a PC type UPB interface (serial prefered or UPB) like Simply Automated to the PC. Yes, in theory the same UPB interface will work for both, but in reality it never does. The mode it operates in is different, the cable is different, and its a giant pain going back and forth.

How are you telling the HAI what the UMI is?

I have 3 UMI modules and they work fine with my OPII.

You just type it in PCAccess and assign the links.
You can't auto integrate it like an HLC switch.

How can i program with PC Access input info shows up on key pad but no operation
Im trying to use one of the outputs to open and close gate
any ideas on programming

The Omni doesn't really need to know it's there, but I assign it in PCAccess just allocate the unit ID.
You type it in just like any other unit.
You can use an HLC room an assign a unit ID in there, or use one of the groups of IDs not designated as HLC ( just UPB).
The Omni can't track the status of the UMI so it's not critical how you assign the unit ID.

Determine the links you want the UMI to respond to or transmit, ensure they are in the link table in UPStart and the UMI is programmed to react or transmit them as you need.

Then make sure the link (scene) area in PCAccess is correct.

If you use the UMI to transmit a link, the Omni can watch for that link.
If you want to control the UMI with a link, the Omni can send it.

This is done in the Unit section, combined with the Scene section.
Make sure you enter the scene names into both the UPB and HLC areas.

To operate.

Define a link "Close Gate", give it a non HLC link number, one of the very high number links.
Then setup the UMI to close one of the relays when it receives the link.
Then have the Omni send the link when you want to close the gate.

You could send the link directly, automatically based on a trigger, or make it part of a Close Gate button macro.

Sorry I've been away at work and unable to get back to programming
Still can't get it to work
not sure what I'm doing wrong except that I'm a new be to programming and it takes a long time to figure this out without a manual on programming
Is there somewhere i can go to on the internet for step by step programming help

yes i got it working on the UPB network and i now have it working a bit on the omni
having problem writing the program to only have the out put on for two seconds

is there some way to pulse the out put for 2 second
i am trying to use it to activate my gate controller just need a momentary contact

thanks for all your help as it turns out i had momentary contacts set on output 1 and i was programming on output 2
NEWBIE mistake i guess
Got everything working now off Omni II now i can start building the operating program for what i all want it to do
