Who has Nuvo Music Port?

Agreed. I was thinking about emailing Ted (NuVo Tech) to see if there's any update... But as a whole, NuVo seems to have gone very quiet in general, not just about MP. Their monthly Dr. Kilowatt newsletter has only been published once this year, whereas last year it was very regular.

They may just be completely swamped with the Renovia launch and the other products they've been rolling out. Hopefully that's it. I'm not ready to "give up all faith", as they've been very good in the past and so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

That said, I see similar issues as SoonerDoc with the Autonomic software, and I don't see much updates coming from them (certainly no traffic on their forum - although why every post has to be validated by the visits-once-a-month moderator is beyond me), which makes me want to check out CasaTunes again. I had dismissed it as a replacement option since it just duplicated the functionality (and what was stated would be available), so I didn't see a need to re-buy the same solution... But Casa seems to be more active these days.

MPS4 received, installed. Initial thoughts:

Really nice device. I haven't played with it a bunch yet, but it seems to work as advertised. The Pandora implementation is very well done. I left it playing last night and found it this AM still playing. Dunno what that will do to my free Pandora account. . . From the Grand Concerto OLED pads, you can do all the regular Pandora functions, incl thumbs up/down, and see "why is this song playing", attributes of the song contained in the Music Genome project.

Setup was easy, all done through a browser. (I did fire up the Configurator to change the names of my zones.)

Something unexpected with the CTP36 screen: they do not fit in 2-gang boxes. It will have to be installed as an old-work device. The screen has drywall tabs that deploy from the edges. It has to have a hole slightly bigger than a 2-gang. Also, the installation calls for updating the firmware for both the CTP36 and for the Grand Concerto. I will have to figure out how to get in the developer resource part of the Nuvo Prozone to get these files. Any suggestions? The CTP36 has a mini-USB port on it for updating the firmware. This cable is not included with the screen or the MPS4. . . My plan is to update the firmware and plug the keypad in in my closet, see if it looks good enough to go through the trouble of messing with my drywall.

ADDENDUM: the CTP36 screen comes with white and black trim, but not the ivory and almond that the Grand Concerto originally came with. The wife is a little anxious about that.

I now see in ProZone Nuvo has discontinued the software for the musicport. WONDERFUL NUVO! Thanks for supporting those who forked over the dough for the MP...

That sucks...hopefully i can keep it running..

My various issues of their control protocol not dealing with the MP right will fall on deaf ears now too i assume..

Well, we did know they were going to discontinue the product - so that move shouldn't be a surprise. But not delivering the stated upgrades, that will really tick me off... We'll have to email them and see if we get an update on the update

Just received a reply to the query I sent to NuVo Tech Support this morning (they do reply quick!):

We are still planning the upgrade, just not a priority at the moment, but I have been assured by my engineers that it is going to happen.

So nothing has changed, but obviously not coming out this week...

Thanks for getting this update Jeff. Really disappointing - there was so much potential for the MP. I guess the user base was just too small and narrow?

When I talked to them at CEDIA last year, sales of the MP were lower than anticipated (and that number wasn't exactly large, either). While the MP was one of the main reasons I purchased the GC over competitor's products, I understand the results in the market.

The product isn't a "nice, bundled, guaranteed-to-work" setup, as it leaves so much for the installer to deal with - aka a PC with the music software, Windows updates, compatibility issues, etc. While that's great for those of us that already had a dedicated PC server for media serving, and want to use it for a number of purposes, it's not what the majority of NuVo's installers/customers want or need. The MPS4 is a much better fit for their market. An "appliance" device that doesn't have all of those problems, and packaged into a simple-to-install-and-maintain unit.

I just wish/hope they'd keep MP support alive and up to date, if not a 'current product', for those that wish to gain the MPS4-type functionality and still use the server for additional purposes...

I just updated to latest version of flash and now the Music Port Client immediately crashes when I try to run it. I am using Windows 7. Anyone else have this issue?

I saw Nuvo & Autonomic released an iPhone app. Anyone tried to connect this to the MCS/Music Port?
The APP says: "Upgrade your mirage Srever to version 3.0 or greater" ... Anyone know where to find that updated version?

I'm running now the Mirage 2.5.5024.110 version combined with the Nuvo Music Port.

Thanks!
