wireless thermostat option

I have an ELK M1 Gold and want to hook up the thermostat. I was able to run cat5 to the upstair thermostat. I can not reasonably running a line to the downstair thermostat. What are the options for wireless downstairs?

Also - how difficult is changing out the thermostat for an ELK-controlled one? Are the wiring to the actual furnace the same?

You can generally use serial thermostats with a IP/RS232 converter. If you have a hardwired LAN then ebay EPS1 units for the ballpark of $20 can be used. If you need wireless then go wifi for the same IP/RS232 capability but at a higher cost.
