Haiku Controls vs. Outputs...

Hi,

I've got an Omnipro II and have been using Haiku and Haiku Helper a little for the past couple of years.  The system was installed by someone else, so there are certain aspects of what's being shown that I don't understand.  The biggest question I have is what is the difference between a control and an output?

I've got controls for all my thermostats and a hot water circulator.  This is pretty straight forward.  I also, however, have an Output for Hot Water and Thermostats.  What are these for?  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Cordially,

Ryan

Welcome

Are you sure you have devices in the Control section for thermostats? They should be in the temperature section.

Control is generally devices to switch electrical loads. Primarily lighting, but also some relay actuated loads like motors and pumps.
Control uses technology like UPB or Zwave. The devices will be listed in the Units section of PCAccess and in the Omni.

Outputs are the 12VDC outputs from the Omni board itself.
They can drive small loads, like an LED or 12VDC relays to switch loads and other things.

The output for the thermostats, number 8, is just a communication path to the thermostats, there is a corresponding input zone, number 16.
