I built the system using 13 DS1820s. Been working fine until yesterday when 6 sensors quit displaying temperature.
They were the last 6 on the line. I figured it was probably an open circuit. Bypassing the connection
didn't solve the problem. Long story short, one of the sensor drops was the problem. As soon as I
unplugged it, the system worked. I put a new cable with sensor on and it worked. I plugged the old
one in and the system quit working.
I disassembled and inspected the cable connections and nothing seemed wrong. I'm going to put the sensor
on a new cable just to test it.
I think it's strange that the system worked up to the defective cable/sensor but not after.
I have no real question just posted this for discussion and info.
