Anyways, going back to Steve's information on FAILED TO COMMUNICTE, was it because, when I heard the alarm within 2 seconds, I entered the code immediately to disarm it? So the controller failed to call the number?
It sounds more like the panel failed to call a proper CS and get the proper handshake, kissoff, etc. Why don't you set up a NextAlarm account so you have a CS to dial into? It doesn't cost anything until you activate the account.

Cool, I will do that now Robert.

Thanks!

Also, I have all the wiring done if you recall on my other thread 2 months ago. I would like to learn zoning, what sensors goes to which zone. It's because, I'm trying to visualize how many sensors can be put in a single zone like for example, in Living room, I have door contacts, window contacts and motion sensor.

Thanks.

I'm filling out the form now at NextAlarm, is the Abort code same as our arm/disarm code? Right now, I'm still using the default of 3456.

Also, I'm with Comcast, when I was filling out the first first, it popped up a window saying that I need to buy an ABN Adapater, is that really needed?

You have some limitations when it comes to zoning the system. You can only put temparature sensors on zones 1 to 15 and you have to use zone 16 for a two wire smoke detectors. Other than that you can pretty much do what you want to do. In this next install I plan on starting with zone 17 reserving the panel for temperature sensors and two wire smoke detectors. I plan on using the last 48 of the 208 zones for wireless.

The abort code is your secret word/number combination to give to the CS when you speak with them. The will ask you for your abort code and you say "fluffy". Regarding Comcast are you saying that you don't have a POTS telephone line?

With my comcast, yes I'm using my old plain telephone set. It's an analog phone. However, the service comes via the coaxial cable and is separated by a box they provided to us.

So the abort code is not the authorization code? If so, that means, I have to create one for my testing now.

EDIT: Comcast is claiming that what they gave to us is Voice Over IP or Digital Voice

VOIP, is why you need the ABN adapter. There are some advantages to using it, read about it on NextAlarm.com. Your abort code is what the family members use to cancel a false alarm. It should be a unique code that your family can remember.

Can't I try it first? I know that security signal is totally different from voice. The reason I was saying this is because back when I was in Vonage VOIP, I also had fax issues. They told me that it's impossible to send/receive faxes. They want me to buy their fax service. I was lucky because I found out a way to send a fax from my fax machine without having to buy their service.

You should call NextAlarm. They probably won't let you use VOIP without the ABN adapter. They talk about reliability issues of VOIP on their website. Look at the advantage of having your phone line monitored constantly in real time by NextAlarm with the ABN adapter. It might be worth the $99 charge for the adapter.

Ok, I'll read up on it. Thanks for helping me buddy!

Btw, I got it set up now, I got the 1 yr plan. Woohoo! But another $99 for the ABN is affecting me. :(

EDIT: I couldn't find their phone number on their website.

I just sent them an email because the operattor kept looping the message. Hopefully, I will be able to receive a response about SIA. Tonight, I will modify the CS number. Oh by the way, when I first saw the number in the Central Station, there were only 7 numbers. I couldn't find the area code. Should I just put in all the numbers that were given to me by NextAlarm?
18008516675
18008517330
Account Number: ****

Is the account number needed by our M1 controller? If so, which part of the menu is it?

I'm going to try the motion sensor again tonight. How many seconds should I wait before I disarm so that I know that it's already sent the signal to the CS?

One of the numbers is the primary number and the other is the backup. You need to set up both numbers in RP. Put in the account number with leading zeros to make up the six digits. You enter the information in Telephones, in RP.

I accidentally hit Send to System All which removed all the conflicts. Now, when I ARM my system, and I try to trip the motion sensor, the controller doesn't do anything anymore. The motion sensor lights up when it senses movement. I've tried type 0, type 3 and type 4 but didn't help. What have I done?
