ELK M1 and 2-wire smoke detectors

Since you have 4 wire detectors and plenty of zones available on the M1 you should have no worries. You will just have to figure out how a few things are wired but it sounds like it will all work out. There is very little you cant do with an M1.

Dont forget to add a CO Detector to your new system.

Spanky is correct, I have 4-wire smoke detectors (sorry to not make this more explicit) but they appear to not have the power supervision relay, just a resisitor. When I switch over to the M1, I'll remove power from them and see if I get a trouble indicator.

I'm just now starting to understand how things are layed out in the current system. This looks like it will be a bit more work than I thought, but because of the 4-wire smokes, it's certainly doable.
