I have had two HAI Omnistat2s working great with my Elk M1G for almost a year when all of a sudden they stopped communicating with the ELK.
I have done the following:
- Triple checked the tstat address and comm settings (Serial/300 baud)
- Double checked the wiring from the stats to the panel for shorts/opens
- Re-enrolled bus modules
The only thing that seems strange is when I verify the pinout of the serial cable (ELK-W046A) it checks out per the instructions, but when I plug it into the M1XSP:
With power off, then pins 3(Green) and 5(Black) are shorted together. 2(Red) and 4(White) are open
With power on, then pins 2(Red) and 4(White) are shorted together. 3(Green) and 5(Black) are open.
Is this the way it should be or is this pointing to some issue with the M1XSP?
Any help would be very appreciated.
