HAI Touchscreen is flickering

I just installed an HAI Touchscreen and have a straight run of wire to it from the panel (only about 20 feet of wire). Problem is that the screen flickers pretty bad. Is there a standard contrast and brightness used? Any clue why it may be flickering? There are no electrical (or any other wires) in that section of the wall that could interfere with it.

You might want to post this in the HAI forum.

Are you powering this off of the console bus or the video hub? How many LCD consoles do you have? How many other powered devices are hooked to your Switched 12V and Aux 12V?

Thanks for the help. How do I get a login for the HAI Forum? I don't see a registration page.

In my current set up (I plan on adding more though), I only have 1 touchscreen and 1 console. They are both attached to the same terminals on the HAI Omnipro II board which is powering them up. The board itself is on a circuit that is only shared with my direct tv multiplexer plug in.

The screen is clear but sort of looks like an old tv from the 50's with a line that flickers down.

Flickering is not normal at any setting. If you used the correct wire size for the distance, I would call HAI and exchange it for another one. Sounds like yours might be bad.

I did not see a response to how many other powered devices are connected to your panel. If you are close to the 1A (OmniPro II and Omni IIe) or 500mA (OmniLT) limit of the console bus/switched/aux combined, that could cause the flickering. Having an LCD console and a touchscreen automatically puts you at 475mA (100mA for LCD and 375mA for touchscreen). Do you have a hardwired expander (add 40mA each) what about a two-way voice board (add 500mA max) any temp sensors (add 15mA each). Smoke detectors (25-75mA each depending on type/brand)? You need to total that all up and see if you are over the 1A limit. If you are, I would try powering the touchscreen seperately and see if the flickering occurs still. If you are not, I would try to to connect the touchscreen directly to the panel and see if it still occurs. If neither of those works then you should probably contact HAI.
