Kitchen project

I have a fujitsu 3400 for the kitchen but I am going to be using some sort of arm down from under the cabinet. This old house of mine has wet plaster walls and its a real pain to deal with them to do anything. You will notice the BIC speakers mounted on both sides of the cabinets for the Now Playing whole house audio project. They were a major pain to get mounted into the walls.

As for the magnets I would agree but its not my domain....

:D

Well on a related note and a high WAF item.... I have a two door version of this hutch on order. Its made by the Amish and will be done in solid oak with a lighter S2 stain.

jwilson,

Beautiful job on the kitchen !

It bears an uncanny resemblence to this kitchen !

I completed mine in 1996 using the raised panel door kit from www.oak-park-com commonly known as the router workshop.

House was built in 1950 and the glass blocks are original.

It had 6 cupboards in it when I started. (This is the 4th and last kitchen I did for myself).

I recently sold all my woodworking goodies and took up golf instead.

Cost me just under $1500 including stain and urethane.

Electron,

Yes under all of the uppers there are single tube fluorescent fixtures.

If I was to do them again I think I would go with the tube lights or the little halogen pucks.

You can't see the lights in the pics as they are valanced with pine to match the cupboards.

The pics don't show all the features but big WAF for :

- lazy susan in the corner

- heavy duty 150 lb rollout full extension pot and pan drawers

- a slotted cupboard for trays and waxed paper and such

- roll outs on the bottoms of some cupboards for bread machine, meat slicer, etc

- roll outs under the sink for bottles, jugs, etc

- wall left of fridge is a giant pantry with about 4000 shelves in it

The original counter tops were ceramic tile 1" squares (black and white) with about 1.5 inches of cement underneath the tiles and the old fashioned metal banding for a counter edge.

I bet I took easily 600 lbs of cement and wire mesh and tiles to the dump.

If you set an egg on the old counter it would roll to the sink and then hit the floor EVERY time !

Only job left for me to do is ceramic floor tiles (maybe next winter).

Sounds pretty cool, I installed some roll outs as well (for the recyclables, etc.), but I am also looking for the kind of 'platform' for an appliance (i.e. mixer) which can be accessed by opening the cabinet door, and it will rise to counter level while you are pulling it out. I have seen them on TV before, but I can't figure out what they are called or where to get them (or the plans).
