System Light Stays On DSC PC5020/PC1555MX

I had a PC1555MX installed when I purchased my home. Awhile ago the system light stayed on and didn't go off so I thought that the system board when out. So I got a PC5020 and the system light stays on the keypad as soon as the battery or ac is connected. Could it be the keypad that has gone bad? The keypad is the LED one. The keypad lights up by responding to touch but punching in codes does nothing

My Keypad died.. I connected it directly to the panel and the exact same thing happened. Popped new keypad on and I was back in business.
