Tane pill

Hi guys, I searched this forum and found great tips for wiring and attaching sensors. However I haven't seen anything about tane pill sensors except that some of you have used it. I just received these sensors and I have question of how they should be mounted. Do they need to be installed as in the sketch? If they are installed like that only small surface area will be in contact between the magnet and the wired sensor. If you have some pictures that show how they are installed I will appreciate it a lot. Thank you for your help.

I have some of these coming soon as well and will be mounting them side-by-side and not with the tops facing each other. I'm a complete noob, but they're listed at 1/2" gap (IIRC) so I would think they should work fine like that.

We use these contacts on every job. LOVE THEM. They work great just about anyway you place them: side by side, 1/2 a part, on top of each other. You can even have them offset and they work.

They look the best of any contacts I have ever seen. Customers love them as they are not bulky, ugly things on their windows.

My only complaint is I which they came some sort of greyish brown color instead of just white and brown. SO many of the windows installed today on our jobs are this newer funky color.

Out of hundreds, no thousands, installed only two have gone bad. Fortunately, Tane Pills come in variation that have screw contacts on them. Clip the wires off the old wired pill, attach them to new screw down pills and voila!

If you havent ordered yet, it might be a good idea to have a few of the screw type pills as back ups. We often have to use them when the drywallers or trim guys cut our wires (if they leave enough sticking out to use the screw pill! Otherwise, its drywall cuttin' time).
