Trouble installing RC-100B tstat

I'm trying to add an RC-100B tstat to my OmniII. I hooked it up according to the instructions, set the type to auto heat/cool in the installer Temp menu, and added its description in PC Access. The thermostat is set to communications mode 1, unit 1 in its installer menu. However, it doesn't show up in the status tab of PC Access or on my touchscreen controller. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

First make sure the changes you made are consistent between PC Access and the controller. PC Access does know about changes you made through a console or OmniTouch 5.7 until you connect and tell it to read from the controller. Similarly, the controller is not aware of any changes you make with PC Access until you write the changes to the controller. Also, make sure that zone 1 is not set to a temperature or humidity sensor. You can not have both a temperature/humidity sensor and a thermostat at address 1.

Thanks. It was the latter. I had a temp/humidity sensor set up on zones 1 and 2. I moved them to 2 and 3 and everthing is working great now.

If I add another tstat, will I have to move them again?

Before I tried that, I tried to read and then immediately write the configuration to the Omni II. PC Access got hung up. Sounds like it might be related to the problem ricks is having in another thread. Are you aware of this? Do you want me to try to repeat it?

You can't have a temperature sensor and a thermostat at the same address. So either you'll have to move the sensors again or just set the thermostat to address 4.

Since you're having a problem with the Omni II, it might be related to Rick's problem. I'll pass the information on to our PC Access developers.

Generally, we teach people to install temp/humidity sensors starting on zone 15 and working down. That way if you only have a few of each, you should never have a conflict. Of course, if you are going to have a lot of thermostats, you will have to adjust accordingly.
