36A05-4 vs 36A05-3

I ordered a 36A05-4 and a -3 was in the box.

I am trying to get my main repeater for Radio Ra2 to work.  It is not working.  I think it is because I have this 36A05-3 connected.

Is there a difference?

You have to use 36A05-4 to connect the repeater to HAI serial port, the other cable is for connecting your computer to the controller.

So.. IIUC (and it's hard to confirm, because the HAI site really doesn't make this clear, and neither do any of the online dealers or distributors) the "36a05-4" designation is for the "kit", which contains a "36a05-3" adapter and a cable.  IOW, you got what you ordered.

similarly, the 36a05-2 kit contains a modular adapter with the designation 36a05-1 and a cable.

No wonder. I did try to use the 36a05-3 but of course it did not work. This the reason for my post. I went to Frys and bought and RJ11 DB9 connector and built my own 36a05-4.

Just plugged it in and all is working. Thanks to all. Now I need to send back this -4 kit.
