What do you use for power distribution in structured wiring

I already have an APC UPS wired into 4 outlets in one of my leviton cans... But one of the A/C plugs (for a netgear) is oriented so that i won't be able to get the cover to the can on as its wide and cord comes out of one of the ends longways across the plug. All four of my devices take 12VDC with pin = positive and all supplies are rated at 1A. But they are not all the same plug size. Anyway i would like to find a 12VDC at ~4A to replace all these.

Looks like some are using the ELK-P412 over in the showcase for needs but given that i already have an APC, that seems like overkill in my application? It also would require an external can which i'd loike to avoid Any suggestions, i find some no-name plug in supplies look like laptop supplies that would work, but i'm a bit worried about reliabilty on those. But in theory something along those lines and the female ends matching my devices wired up to a terminal block would be my preference...

Any suggestions?

thx

If you are concerned about the Netgear plug you can get a 6 inch or so plug extension to place the wall wart in a more conveinant place.

You could always cut the ends off of the wall warts and wire them to a supply that can handle enough current and individually fuse them at 1A. If you have the real estate in the existing can you can do it but you may need an external source. I have a 24vac camera supply that I use one leg to supply AC to a SMP5 Altronix regulator board. I distribute the power through an Altronix PD8 for 12vdc. I use it to supply power to motions, CO detectors, etc.

You could also keep the individual power supplies and cut and extend the 2 conductor cables to remotely locate the wall warts in a better location, plug them into a good surge strip and then into the UPS.

Yep that's the type of option i was thinking... Thx for the altronix link, i was havin hard time finding something rated that high that looked good. Hoping radio shack would have the various female ends to plug in as i'd rather not destroy the originals...
