HAI Omni Lt Phone wiring

New member to the forum and have a problem. I am installing an Omni Lt board. It did not come with a phone cord and I am using one from an earlier Honeywell Installation. It is 8 pin as is the one that comes with the Omni. The Omni board calls for Green, Red, Brown, Gray. My cable does not have Brown or Gray. It would help if I knew what the brown and gray should connect to. I assume red and green go the incoming phone line. Do they connect to the outgoing (to home phone) line? Any help?

The Omni must come before the other phones in the house, so green and red are in, and the other two are out. I wouldn't get caught up on the colors, because from experience, they are not always correct. Do, however invest in a phone polarity checker for about $10, if you don't have a digital volt meter. The red wire is negative, by the way.

I am not familiar with the Omni LT but on my OmniPro II, the cable you are refering to is used to connect the Omni to the phone system via a RJ31X jack. This allows the Omni to make phone calls in support of the security feature. The RJ31X phone jack is designed to route the phone line thru the Omni such that if the Omni makes a phone call, it captures the phone line (cuts off all your normal phone outlets) to insure it make the outgoing call.
The red & green wire are the normal red/green from your phone service into the Omni. The brown/gray feeds the phone service back to the rest of your house. Think of the brown/gray as your red/green exiting from the Omni.. Your OmniLT wiring diagram should show where the brown/gray wires hook to the OmniLT. The RJ11 plug then plugs into the RJ31X jack.
Google RJ31X and you can find lots of diagrams
