Updating HAI Omnistat2 firmware

I have two Ominstat2 thermostats.  I purchased one from e-bay which has firmware 1.04d and another from an online supplier with firmware 1.05a-zha-v14.27.  I can connect the 2nd omnistat2 with firmware 1.05a with no problems.  Both devices have unique addresses and are close enough to the central zigbee receiver that they should connect easily.  The one thermostat with firmware 1.04d will not connect no matter what I try.  I am speculating that the failed connection may be because of the firmware.  Is there a way to upgrade the firmware in the omnistat2?  If so can anyone please provide directions?

If there is no way to upgrade the firmware is there something else I should be trying to get the 1.04d firmware unit to connect?  Appreciate all responses.

The firmware on the HAI zigbee thermostats can be upgraded. However they need to be connected to the ZIM first. The firmware is downloaded to the ZIM and then pushed to the thermostats. You can download the updater from http://www.homeauto.com/zigbeeupdater/ Not sure this will help as you are unable to get your thermostat to connect.

Has anyone ever seen HAI/Leviton offer updated firmware for ZigBee devices?  I have ZigBee locks, ZigBee OmniStat2's, and a few other HAI Zigbee devices, and I have yet to ever see that the ZIM told me there is new firmware I could download.  I have seen updates to the ZIM itself, but when I run the Updater, it always says No Updates Available.  I know HAI CAN update OmniStat2 or lock firmware over ZigBee, but have they ever?

If I remember correctly my thermostats came with version 1.03. I was having issues with the time sync and outdoor temp displaying. I used the Updater to push the latest radio and thermostat firmware to the devices. The firmware update solved my issue.
