I am just getting ready to start home automation projects and would like some input on pros/cons on the base systems. I have been researching Cortexa & Vera (3 & lite). These seem to me to be the two front runners for a low-cost introductory system. I would like the system to initally control lighting scenes, irrigation (via timers and z-wave based remote sensors) and ip cam, and eventually door locks, etc.
I am planning on installing new t-stats and am leaning towards the Ecobee (I know they don't integrate yet but like the functionaility vs other comprable t-stats). I plan to install two of them (one up and one downstairs) with the upstairs connected to 4 remote sensors for room temp averaging.
